After our 1st season with our new (to us) boat, I am looking to replace our absent galley crash bar. I can see where one used to be - 3 screw holes either side of the cooker but I'll be damned if I can find a replacement. Looked in chandlers etc with no luck. Anyone know where to get one from. I presume it will be 2 brackets and a straight bar. Any thoughts, anyone????

May not be a bar as such but a wide webbing strap,to retain the cook in place in roughish conditions, and made from Terylene similar to seat-belts.
If you wanted a bar then there is some chromed tubing as used for hangers, at B & Q that may be suitable with the right end fittings.

It's not normally the sort of item available over the counter. Chances are you'll have to get one made up by your local fabricator. A meter of 25mm stainless tube with two drilled ends shouldn't set you back too much.

Having said all that, I fitted one on a boat of mine years ago, made from a length of 25mm chromed wardrobe rail that had the ends to match. Cost about £2. Didn't rust, and still looked the part when I sold the boat 5 years later. Maybe it's available in a store like B&Q. Not from a "yacht swindlery" I know.....but who will ever know, and I guarantee it'll do the job and last for years.
