Not gaelforce.

Looking for a new fresh water pump and these guys popped up.

Website seems a bit basic but they look to have a direct replacement to what I currently have. Although I'll probly get done on postage for living in the Highlands.

I looked at the jabsco options but they seemed to be pressure rated to 25psi. Currently mine is rated to 40, I don't know if 25 is enough.

I would recommend the Seaflo range. They offer a 17 LPM with adjustable pressure switch to about 3.5 bar.

I fitted these on both my previous and current boat.

Gaelforce are based in the Highlands so you shouldn't have to pay rip off carriage charges.

Gale Force Marine have been around since 2005, and their Companies House records are regular and timely. That's one good indicator !

Jabsco do make them up to 40psi. The ASAP website has a good range of domestic water pumps. They are a company I use often and would recommend .

No idea about Gale Force but I can recommend Gaelforce. I have bought stuff from them regularly since they opened a shop near Glasgow. I can also recommend ASAP. The last order I got from them was ordered on a Wednesday late pm and delivered on Friday.

Postage can be a bummer. The only time I have been charged extra was getting a fridge from a company whose name I forget. I pointed out on the phone that my postcode was not listed on their web site as liable for surcharge, that I live only 19 miles from Glasgow and 8 miles from a junction of the M8 and got the reply that "the web site was wrong and all Paisley postcodes are surcharged" but as I needed the thing urgently I paid up. Something like a water pump is within the limits for Royal Mail delivery and should not be surcharged. I can't remember ASAP's limit for free delivery but a pump price may qualify.

will check out this asap website :)

Ive also used Gaelforce from up in inverness for a few parts

it confused me at first as i thought the pump i had found was by them yet i couldnt find it on thier site - then realised 'gale force' was different.

postage in the highlands is a nightmare and something ive been campaigning against through my work with other local companies.

I've not used them for a few years now, but when I did, I had no complaints - good value and timely deliveries.

I'm not sure what the confusion is. I thought Gael Force Marine were Gaelforce.

Anyway, I've used the chandlers at the above website a good few times and have been quite happy. They're also very good at answering questions if you contact them. One of the people that worked there posts on here, or at least used to.

There's the confusion I fell into.
Gaelforce I'm aware of, and used
Gale force was a site that seemed to have what I was after. I've ended up buying elsewhere today as they would wouldn't answer thier phone. But thought it was worth an ask with such similar names

Presumably you haven't used their web site before. I made the mistake a few years ago of simply guessing their website address. IIRC it wasn't at work otherwise IT security might've been tapping me on the shoulder. That's when I learnt that it was necessary to include the 'marine'.

And as if by Magic, he who used to be with Gaelforce appears! (Yup, i've left the fold again, currently i've added four wheels to pieces of fibreglass and am working for a small Campervan business)

To clarify - Gale Force and Gaelforce are two completely seperate companies - I suspect the gentleman who runs Gale Force thought it would be good marketing to run with a similar name to one of the big chandleries. In my experience (we used to get a few calls about faulty pumps "The ones you make, the Gaelforce ones" - which immediately told me they'd got the wrong company as Gaelforce don't brand any pumps, yet!) there's nothing dodgy about Gale Force, the pumps are likely to be cheap jabsco or whale copies rebranded, hence the decent prices he seems to offer. We'd get maybe 5 or 6 calls a year about faulty pumps with people thinking Gaelforce were Gale Force, so I can't say about how reliable the hardware is, but whenever we contacted the chap that runs the company asking him to deal with the situation (especially when people sent pumps to Gaelforce inverness!!!) he couldn't have been more helpful, so seems like a decent enough trader in my limited experience.

Hope that helps.

Ps, Buy a campervan....
