I have a Garmin iQue3600 which I have been using for road navigation for the last couple of years. The maps on it are out of date so I asked garmin when are they releasing v8 of City Select. Their response was "I'm sorry this product has been discontinied" (the upgrade would have been about $80) "You will have to buy our new City Navigator product which is compatible with your iQue" (and costs $350)

City *Navigator* and City *Select* are two different products - Not sure about the iQue, but I thought that City Navigator (the expensive one) was for the StreetPilot series, and that City Select was fine for the others - including my GPSMAP60CS. City Select Europe is only at V7 (CityNav is at V8), - it's on the Garmin website, but not on www.globalpositioningsystems.co.uk, www.adventureshop.co.uk or www.gpsw.co.uk yet, but it should cost around 120 quid when it's available.

It's a pain that there's no upgrade for BlueChart (unless you buy just before a new one is released), but I reckon that it wold cost more than 120 quid of my time to update ~190 BA charts by hand with a purple pen...

(No conection with those websites, but ISTR that one of them was cheaper then Tottenham Court Rd (& the chandlers) when I bought CS or BlueChart)

City Select Europe which is suppied with the iQue3600 is now a discontinued product. This has come direct from garmin and if you look at their website, City Select europe has now gone from their update lists.

City navigator is now the product for the iQue3600 and is in the list of supported products. Quoted (RRP) price for this is $349.99.
