Gadget or pinnacle of technology?

Came across a posting elsewhere about a gadget for cleaning paintbrushes and ... it works. A few seconds and the brush shows no sign of paint. Not so good on water based paints I have so far tried, but certainly varnishes, paints, etc. Has transformed my life - no more hateful brush cleaning.

Yes, I bought it a couple of weeks ago because it wasn't that expensive and didn't really think it would work (my mother was a great gadget buyer, all of which ended up in a cupboard) but it does. It cleans brushes much better than I can do it by hand. I used it once with water based paint and while it cleaned the brush, there was a thin line left near the ferrule.
