Future laundry devices

I can't see how it would send soundwaves from the point of origin to every item of clothing on the can. Perhaps they haven't checked for attenuation; and to shake all the dirt loose needs a helluva lot of energy.


But if it worked, people would use ultrasonics on boats and things, wouldn't they ?

Just possibly, if you soak your delicates in a sink full of warm water and detergent for half an hour, they come out cleaner whether or not you also had a £90 plastic rock in there with them :)

From the depths of my memory the instrument workshops at BA, and probably in watch repairers, used ultrasonic baths for cleaning delicate equipment. I think the idea has traction, dont know I'd buy one though :)
 
Putting the dirty clothes in a bucket of water with detergent and leaving it for 24 hours gets them clean; especially if the boat is moving around a bit.

Then a quick rub with your hands, rinse and it's done.

It's starching and ironing collars that's the problem.
