sorry for another Eber q (tis the time of year).

we can't find a fuse on our installation. Would it be normal for it to be wired direct to battery? It's very difficult for us to trace the wiring, but we've looked as hard as we can (or have knowledge to) and can't find a fuse anywhere.

The wiring diagram in the manual says there should be a 25amp one, but as said, can't find one.

Should I be concerned enough to fit an inline breaker ?

The recommendation is that you should connect direct, thru a fuse, to the battery. The wire is a thickish one, red, the fuse is usually in an oblong, black fuse holder, it is a bullet shaped one that corrodes easily.

We found our fuse (as described above) in series in a thick red cable connected to the nearby starter motor. This is a logical source of high amperage 12V 'cos the battery to starter wiring is already heavy duty and there is no point running parallel cables from the battery past the same point. Our fuse had developed a high resistance hot spot and melted. It was easily replaced once we found it - fortunately we had some spares of the very specific (uncommon) type.
Regards
Bob

Should be connected direct to the domestic battery bank, or permanent live on the domestic input of the isolator, if you find the old ceramic type fuse dump it and install a water resistant in line blade fuse holder as those things a very poor and the first thing I look for on a non or reluctant starter.

When we took over this boat the heating would not fire up. Eventually found a breaker in the circuit in amongst all the wires in the back of the main panel. Was switched off, never worked out why.

Well, as long as you're happy to run your heater off the engine battery, that is :)Pete
Just trying to help OP find his fuse!
You'll have to take up your point with Mr Moody; The 1-B-2-Off, D3 & engine all look like the original fit to me.
Cheers

Mine is the same, but as one battery is isolated it can't be drained by the heater.
(I knew what you meant)
