That shouldn't happen. For instance, I tune into Portpatrick on both 490 and 519kHz, "C" and "O" resp. IIRC. The Furuno retains both these selected identifiers, and I can change frequency without any other button pressing.
 
Another endorsment for Furuno. Am presently lusting after an 1832 radar to replace my Kelvin Hughes.
If I could afford it, everything would be Furuno, it works if left alone, and if not - there is enough information in the manual to have a good chance of fixing it.
 
Anyone use Furuno kit?
I know their radar will still work if the cover blows off and is fitted with the bottom half of a B&Q dustbin ...

Most fishing boats have their kit, none with Raymarine, although whether this new sleekit beastie ye'r spashing oot on warrants industrial kit .. erm ... !
