The backup battery in my GP-32 gps is fitted with tabs and is soldered to the printed circuit board. Is there any danger of damaging the electronics, e.g. by heat transfer, when removing the old battery and soldering on the new one? Also, the existing battery is held in place with two 'blobs' of what looks like some hard silicone sealant. How does one remove this without damaging the printed circuit board? Thank you for any help in anticipation.
