Further afield

When I looked after the Woodbridge Cruising Club website I started to collect "favorite anchorages". I don't think they keep it up any more, but before I packed it in I got permission from the contributors to publish them if WCC ever gave up. Here are some for the area you are interested in

http://quanglewangle.com/LongyBay.pdf
http://quanglewangle.com/guernseyEastCoast.pdf
http://quanglewangle.com/anchoragesIleSaintMarcouf(4).pdf

Hope these are helpful. Obviously any references to WCC on the documents themselves are now incorrect.

Phew, made it.
Arrived in Beaucette Marina in the northestern corner of Guernsey last night.
Trip to date:
Sat Fox, Ipswich to Boulogne
Sun Boulogne to Fecamp
Mon rest day
Tues Fecamp to Guernsey (and we didn't bypass St Vaast to miss Bob - it was just that tide with us meant a good chance of making Guernsey whilst the entrance was still OK. 11.8 SOG passing Cherbourg is a new high for us).
Nice marina (former rock quarry) woth a scarily narrow entrance.

Steep sides do give a different perspective of the boat!

Well done Duncan :cool:we must try harder

We're going too...

Just picked up on this thread a bit late...

We're leaving the Orwell on Sunday 1st Aug (late), stopping at Dover on Monday night. Leave Dover Tuesday am. direct to Cherbourg. Then Alderney, Jersey and whatever. Leavig the boat in St Helier on Sun 8th by plane, returning the following weekend. Then two weeks cruising the CI for 4-5 days, then Fecamp, Valery en Caux (terrific place), Boulogne, Dover. Drop the boat at Dover and train home. Will be staying a couple of nights in our favourite places. Sound like I might see some of you around.

Just a note of warning for anyone headed to Beaucette Marina, guernsey - the Petite Canupe cardinal bouy os currently off station. Not a problem as you'll see the R/W fairway bouy which is nearby - even if you arrive when it is nearly dark as we did. You can be assured of a warm welcome frm the professional staff and diesel at 55p a litre!:D:eek:
We are leaving here tomorrow morning and headed over to the bays on Herm and/or Sark for some anchoring.
Cheers
D
