I have a problem with the Furlex 200s genoa furler on my Bavaria 32. When I unfurl the sail, all goes well until I have the last few turns of sail around the foil, and then the entire unit spins a couple of times, wrapping the furling line around the base of the foil.
From what I can see, it partly relies on the tension of the furling line itself to keep the fairlead, and therefore the whole unit, in the correct orientation, and once the sail is almost fully out there is insufficient tension on the furling line to keep things in the right place.
As a temporary measure, I have tied a piece of line between part of the pulpit and some holes in the plastic casing under the drum and it seems to work OK. What is the correct fix for this?
