Hi folks, having taken my old Bulldog furler apart I am now replacing the old Trion balls ( like balk bearings) there is a set at the bottom of the collar and a set above, this whole unit attaches to the top of the genoa, they are open to the elements, my question is what if any lubricant should I use....

Thanks in advance

If they are open to the elements they are unlikely to need any, since whatever you use will probably get washed away. If it doesn't, it will attract abrasive grit.

Hi and thank you for replying and the tip on putting the ballbearings back is a good idea, at an eyewatering £12.50 for a pack of 20 I didn't want throw them all around the clubs yard so thank you again.

A good tip. Thank you - one I shall use.

These pages offer a wealth of information and useful tips.

As a boy fixing a bicycle bottom bracket I could find no grease to hold the loose balls in place.

A few days later dad was heard asking " Anyone seen the Germoline? "
