I went on the two day Electrics for Boaters course which Tony Brooks does. www.TB-training.co.uk
It was held at Beeston Marina, which while not the most salubrious of venues provided an excellent all day breakfast.
It covered everything you need to know with, basic electrical theory, cable fuse and circuit breaker selection, wiring domestic circuits hands on engine experience, circuit testing and building, fault finding on batteries, alternator and starting circuits. Excellent value, and now I feel confident enough to really mess the electrics up.

He told me that he does a course at Harwich Yacht club, which may be of interest to the East Coast contingent.
Regards,
G.

He does do courses at the Royal Harwich YC, both the electrics one mentioned here and a diesel engine course. Both are excellent, covering theory and hands on experience with several different types of engine.

I am not just being picky in correcting the name, but as RHYC is at Woolverstone on the Orwell someone might have been unsure of the location.
