Full Circle II is to set off on the morning flood round the M25 and head off to Burton Bradstock near Weymouth, where we will be camped en famille for a week.
I have to say that this is both more tiring and more expensive than boating. I can't believe it.

So we will be back in a week or more.

Any one have the vaguest notion how many Brownie points I earn for not having the boating holiday I should have had?

Strangely, I quite enjoy camping. There's something comfortingly familiar about becoming soaking wet and freezing, and then retreating to inadequate accommodation to juggle several saucepans on a two-ring stove, before drinking yourself into insensibility.

The glow of virtue you will feel should constitute sufficient reward in itself, or so SWMBO will have you believe. I don't suppose there is wi-fi at the campsite, is there, so that we can share your discomfort, virtually?

Enjoy! :D

I am indeed taking my 3 dongle, so will share my blotchy windblown complexion with you all. From your description James, it seems as if ther are many points to be picked up here.
Fortunately, our bed is 3 feet off the ground, and SWMBO insisted on me purchasing a memory foam topper over the mattress. Your cooking assertions are valid except the cooker supplied with LY Full Circle II is a Nelson SPinflo, and therefore has an excellent grill. I also have my Danish BBQ, and a drinks cabinet to rival the Hassett Sixpences.

The joy is that the trailer carries lots of comfort extras. The curse is that Mrs FC is kitting it out to rival a Tinkers Caravan.

I shall be singlehanding that way en-route to Plymouth Tuesdayish. Mind you, perhaps I shouldn't tell you that. Just think of the points, and yes they will be many but as has been said, nowhere near enough ................

You can go off people you know.....:p

Sounds great. the best hoiday swmbo and I ever had was camping at Croyde Bay.

Mind you, that was partly because I couldn't believe there could be a woman who actually enjoyed camping and partly because daughter was about 18 months and her sleeping routine meant I could go surfing every afternoon;-)

Funnily enough - that more or less what Marc said about my allotment (without the comforting factor) :

"great - another activity where two people spend long periods of time in the outdoors yet in an enclosed space, getting soaking wet and tired and grumpy for no benefit other than to get something you could have got a lot quicker by a different method!"

Anyway - loving LY Full Circle II - wishing you all a great holiday!
