...after mlast years horror of being away from the boat and finding 400 gallons of mud and water when we got to her, I can happily relate that no such issue this year.
Bracing walk down to Bridgemarsh, and opened her up, batteries topped up, dry inside, Webasto working. Good.

Met AliM and they had a cup of tea with us. They have 33 miles to go before reaching 2000 miles this year. Well done Vela Rose.

Lovely afternoon with a perfect sunset, and all is right in my little world again.

I am very glad to hear that.

We blocked up the bottom of Sirenia's keel box and filled it with water to about 6" above the normal level the other day.
I am please to report that no water found its way into her.

The cause was some plonker hitting the concrete dinghy launch ramp with the tip of keel while it was part raised whilst trying to get along side the quay at Ramsholt to drop off a load of gear following the Pirate weekend.
The head of the keel punched a flap of GRP out of the keel box but only managed to form an actual hole about 5mm dia.
This took 2.5 days to fill the boat enough to allow the water over the top of the keel box and then it was submarine time.

Yes very expensive, but most of those things that were on the must be replaced / redone some time list will now be done.
She will be fully refurbished when we are finished.

And a mooring of her own to go to.
