Full Circle Bodging Convention Week.

In an effort to stem the envy we had cause to drive to Ipswich today, and decided to extend the drive into the countryside, at the end of a little used farm track we came across a tranquil little pebble beach which the dog enjoyed a run and paddle on. Leaving at around 7PM we had noted a rather splendid looking Full Circle about 500 ft off shore, looking like she had been prettied up somewhat, so much so that the obviously exhausted crew were nowhere to be seen. Wonder what Jim was up to down below
Don't think I want an answer to that one though :o

+1

I get asked that question on a fortnightly basis.
I usually tell him that the only thing you can rely on from Sixpence in un-reliability.

Hey, George at Ramsholt was asking me when Sixpence was going to appear on her mooring!

So whats the answer? :D

No idea would be the simple answer, but at the moment we are doing what Jim predicted some months ago and working our furry backsides away at getting this place working the way we planned in the first place. Currently doing about seventeen hour days seven days of the week, just moving slowly forward. Knew it was going to be hard work but hadn't counted on the seven month delay caused by the council
Still need to pay Paul for the mooring whether we go on it or not, but now we have no outboard and have other higher priorities than buying another, so unless things change fast it seems like we're going to remain aground for some time yet.
Still, on the plus side, at least more and more people are saying good things about what we do here, to quite a few people we are now a venue of choice rather than convenience. Two dozen oysters went down a treat last Saturday, only problem is I haven't had a chance to teach anyone else how to open them. Hard work when you have to do them alone, with not much time to do them :(
Paul, who has paid for the mooring already, was good enough to hold it for me, so he will definately see his kindness repaid, but it doesn't look like we will make it this year after all :(

Guess that's a no then :D

Also been doing the 17 hour day 7 days a week since last Oct setting me own business up but at some point you have to take a break or you fall over. This is my first time off since then and its been very beneficial - even got some new business while I've been away although I'm not running a pub I must admit.

Hope it goes well, will certainly pop in next time we're up there :)

As always, you'll be welcome any time as you know

Yep, we had planned to sort of make Monday our weekend, but other jobs seem to have come up taking care of that idea. But once on top of things we hope to travel to the boat on Sunday evening after closing, then have Monday and Tuesday afloat before returning in time for Tuesday opening. Without paying Paul for the mooring we have had to delay launching until we can, and now having no available outboard it just adds one more problem to the issue. Afraid I like (as everyone does) to repay what's owed before leisure pursuits can be had :o
Our choice of career move and we knew what we were doing when we got into it, so we'll get there in the end
Oh, and we are no longer a pub
Some have asked us to describe what we are, and so far, we can't
It works though, so I call it The Frank
You do it your way :D

Dave, you should have phoned, would have come ashore to see you.....

Its a dank miserable morning, but at least it is quiet at anchor. No thunder yet. Will go and have a look at the met now.

Bit lumpy out by Landguard, so we swapped ends and went to the Backwaters.

Unexpected boat bodging in the form of a broken shear pin in the Mercury 3.3.
Shockingly, I didnt have a spare so had to fashion a bodge by slicing the head off an M4x25 screw.
Titchmarsh only carries odds and sods shearpins, could only get a stainless one which is wrong for a plastic prop.

No other bodging yesterday, but I have made a huge pan of Venison hot pot for today.
We are preparing to amble off to Hamford Water in an hour or so.

Hm, skipped yesterday altogether, had a whizzo reach up the Orwell to Ipswich, and had a Fray Bentos reunion with Mr & Mrs Moodysabre.
Ipswich is like a better developed Ramsgate so we like it.
Today a bit of bodging for Mr Sabre, and reassemble my Rutland 913.
Rain, whilst not stopping play, is restricting the playground a bit.
Even though the rain was heavy, it has only changed the swirl pattern of Stone Point beach in my cockpit, and not sluiced it out the transom like I was hoping. Another theory goes bang.
