Of all the islands in the Canaries, this one has been rather behind for cruising sailors.
The marina at Gran Tarajal was really the only place to get a 'walk in' berth. And cold showers!
However in the past vouple of seasons, there is an effort being made to attract visiting yachts.
In the capital, Rosario, there is now a nice small marina in the port area. Not much in the way of yacht facilities but good restaurants nearby.
The latest addition though is a rebuild of the marina at the ferry port of Coralejo inthe North. Loads more visitors berths on the edge of an old fashioned town centre with heaps of entertainment. Worth in my opinion a visit.
I took a fairly poor photo two weeks ago but you may get the idea!
