fuel tank vent

Hello

If you forget to close the vent on a fuel tank, as I often do! Does this make the fuel unusuable because petrol has evaporated leaving a higher petrol / oil ratio?

Unless a amount of petrol has evaporated in which case the engine won't start the excessive oil in a two stroke engine will just make the engine smoke a lot.

Unless subjected to high ambient temp - it would take a significant length of time for the gasoline to go 'off' as you ask.
