I am looking for a manufacturer by recommendation for a new aluminium fuel tank please, based Cowes but can travel

I can very highly recommend Jay-Wolfe.
They also operate under Shop4Tanks.
I've had several tanks made, including an exact copy stainless waste tank.
The quality was 1st rate (I do know what I'm talking about, as I'm capable of making it myself). Plus unfortunately we had to cut out and replace our port side aluminium engine fuel tank last season, so used them again. There was a small discrepancy (they made something slightly different, because I changed a detail on the drg, which then got missed. To be fair it was an easy miss)
They sent a courier, collected, rectified, and resent the tanks the Same Day! (I'm not even local)
I had 4 quotes for the alu tank which were shockingly close to each other, but having worked with these guys previously, I was unlikely to go elsewhere, but needed to check.

The plastic tank issue has come up several times, and it's not cool to get it wrong, as you could fail a survey and affect either your insurance or a resale pre-buy.
I would be happy with Plastic for Diesel, but I understand the angle the regulations are coming from. I wouldn't want to create a fire-block where I would need to.
Also I chose Aluminium again because the original was never maintained properly, including by me (poor access), and had a history of diesel bug,.known when we bought the boat, but still lasted 20 yrs.
I now have good access and can maintain the tank easily so I think it could outlast the boat.
Plus I didn't change both sides, so to me it feels right to have same same.

IF/when I recover access to my boat, I will have to do something about the fuel tank. This is stainless and I assume is intact, but the fuel line fittings were not, and had rotted and dropped out of the tank, dumping the fuel into the bottom of the starboard side locker.

I had intended to replace the tank with a plastic remote tank of similar capacity for an outboard, , which come up on Gumtree quite often. These of course will usually take petrol but I assume the material is also compatible with diesel.

Hadn't considered potential survey issues. Wasn't intending to get a survey, but will probably need to get third party insurance at some point, so perhaps reinstating the existing tank is a better option.
