Fuel tank leak

A pic of the passerelle fixation would be nice as well . A boat , a piece of a boat , inside the ER , the transom etc .
I don’t think we ever saw the end of that saga .Heard a great blame game though. :)

Ok…yesterday we visited the yard and discussed options…including replacing with a smaller tank and the options for the tank material…we decided to cut the tank out..but it will be done carefully incase the tank is salvageable and a welder can shorten the height of it.
We expect a call after the tank is out

Good decision (y)

This is from my archives…all the stainless is 316 and very large and very thick…also there is a extremely thick plate up in the gunnel where it can’t be seen in the photo

There is hardly any flex…even fully extended with my very large friend (close to 300 lbs) stepping on and off. However, there is a little bit..just a little flex…but much much less than any boat I can observe (including superyachts)…that is except Princess…they are rock solid, no flex. So my plan was to insert three very small stainless steel triangular gussets..just to beef it up and match Princess quality.
Unfortunately.,..my plan was to do the work in winter (it’s too hot in the lazaret in my welding gear in summer)…so it will be next winter…no big deal ?

Pass work looks great , glad it worked out .
I have never really noticed any ones flexing , then again if factory fit I guess builders reinforce the bracket area .
Esp if the double up as tender cranes which mine does .

Upper bracket is easily none flexing on the white margin , which is like a box section anyhow with a slight curves in it as well .How ever the foot is not on the bathing platform it’s on the centre of the transom .You would have thought prone to passing flexing forces to that expanse of flattish surface .It doesn’t move ,even when lifting the tender + bat + motor up .
Behind that part is a series of built in cupboards carcasses and a a bed in the rear cabin .Also an en-suite space ( seethe window with the fender ) shortening the effective L of the internal slab of the transom .
No visible metal just thick lay up and stringers bonded in running all over + as I said cabin furniture + a en-suite bulkhead dividing up the expanse .

Anyhow on the subject of Passerelle fitting the coolest in my view are the retracting into the bathing platforms, that act a swim ladders .No letterbox micro switches hassle , or ER cramping of space .

I am sure that Itama also don’t flex? But most won’t flex while lifting a tender..it’s a slow steady lift...but when people step off and onto the tip (especially when fully extended) it has that sudden springy effect....in fact I have observed that many people either don’t extend the passerelle fully (or step on and off the side) in order not to have that springboard effect

Here some pics imho of the dogs wedding tackle of Passerelle design + instal .
Its on an Itama but I,am bias .:cool:The kit be it Besenzoni or Pincraft is off the shelf and could be used by any builder .
I have even seen on on Itama 40 s ( 3.9 M beam ) scaled down .
Using a 75 by way of example.

You can of course specc a conventional letter box Passerelle if you want . Ferretti ( Pershing next door ) semi custom .
Inherit all the hassle of tight spaces and micro switches going bang .

Tender crane below is concealed .As well as .

Any how nice to see Bouba s retro fit reinforcement .

Spring board thing is the thing itself not the boat on mine .I do not use it as a diving board because of the shock loading of the hydraulic seals in the vertical actuation ram .Makes sense to me .How ever see others flolocking about at anchorages .
Indeed a guy on my pontoon had leaky rams and he regularly used his as diving board .Messes up your teak , the oil !

Any news on insurance? As I've said before, my insurance would cover this so there's a chance yours does too.

We’ve started the ball rolling...but it’s all going to depend on what the assessor puts in his report....after the tank is out and an estimate is made by the yard it will be the beginning of the process
