Fuel tank leak

I would guess that if you ask very nicely , and without anyone being allowed to say anything, you might get a bit of help from Big Benny. That would be fair but without publicly opening the floodgates to “me too” claimants ?
If ya don’t ask… ya don’t get ?

By the by, my last but one boat I cut the grp liner out of the saloon in order to facilitate glassing in keel stiffeners ( floors).
It all went back just fine, though it seemed a tad drastic at the preplanning stage ..A better, stiffer boat resulted really
Fingers crossed for ya

The claimants can only claim if they have leaky tanks...so I don’t think that Beneteau are concerned...anyhow the yard is communicating with the factory so I will wait (and probably wait) for their response
Don’t get me wrong... I have in the past written directly to Madame Beneteau

Been over 24 hours…….where’s the photos for us all to suck our teeth at guv?
Still waiting....the yard have demonstrated that they are quick to trot but they are waiting word from the factory....I would have sent you glorious pictures of my life here...but i thought that I would spare you photos of the inside of Intermarché

Is that not swimbo job

Normally I show pictures of our exotic coast but today we are far inland for a walk and lunch…the hills and village of Ramatuelle

even though it looks a bit hazy…it’s a glorious day and the first day this year that I am spending the whole day in a short sleeve T-shirt

After a discussion with the wife (translated...I asked her what to do and she told me) we decided to contact the yard after the Easter weekend and ask about progress...but we are sure that they will call us as soon as the factory reply to them

Many decades ago I went on a Bayliner Factory service course. Whilst looking around the production lines at a small flybridge boat Looking at the location of a fuel tank I enquired what happened if you had a fuel tank leak.
The reply was "No problem we just pop the gunnel!.

IMHO, definitely the wrong approach.
Never TRUST anyone anytime - especially "to get back to you".
Always keep the initiative yourself.
As any good salesman would say YOU make the next contact - not the third party.
Always finish your previous discussion with "I will "pop in next Monday" or something similar.
Firstly, it keeps them on their toes - but more importantly, YOU are "calling the shots"
This is particularly relevant in the marine industry.
Maybe you think you are the customer - well - think again - it is hard work to get this kind of thing done - especially if you employ someone to do it for you.

Take the initiative - man.
Make yourself a nuisance -it is the only way - believe me!!

What do you mean, make yourself a nuisance?

This is true...but it’s the Easter weekend...experience tells us that in France even a firm commitment before a holiday weekend is always forgotten when the working week resumes...so we will definitely contact them Tuesday

Yup, the guy that is putting down the concrete base around the swimming pool ready for the tiler cheerily said last night as he was leaving see you Monday, it took a minute or two but I realised he is taking tomorrow off to make it a long weekend and we have no chance of seeing him on Monday. ?

The worst is when they take a bridge...

It can also be a good way of being sent to the back of the queue! No marine business worth its salt is short of work at this time of year, particularly in the south of France. Nuisance customers are only a nuisance once and then they are left out in the cold by the marine dealer. Not only that, marine dealers talk amongst themselves, even though they are in competition and they warn each other of tardy payers, hasslers and shysters!

Hmmmm,
Not sure that gets things done in my part of Catalonia.
I‘ve found the only way is to build up personal relationships with individuals in the yard and be “nice”
Difficult for @Bouba because he’s a first time with that yard but you could make a start.
Of course there is no right or wrong way, it's whatever works for you.
