Just planning for a trip from Corpach to Bangor in Belfast Lough. Struggling with diesel fuel stops between Corpach and Bangor via Islay sound. Any ideas please?

Thanks for replies that's a big help. Ballycastle looks like a good option. At the moment I am thinking of keeping to the West of Jura, but may go East after reading up a bit on the sounds etc. We have enough fuel for Corpach to Bangor but like to keep I/3 of tanks in reserve. The whisky stops seems a good idea, but think we will make do with a Guinness in Bangor.

If you're making a whisky stop, Isla or Jura trump every other bit of the west coast!!

Tommy Barbour ltd on railway pier Oban 01631 562849.
Ballycastle - John the Harbour M 07803 505084 will give you a number for a tanker firm (if you need a fair dollop) who come down alongside pontoon on right as you come in to outer harbour- good price- Can be subject to swell in entrance and outer harbour. I miss West coast cruising. If you go west from there ever Portrush has fuel on quay (and great steaks at the Bistro).

All good information, thanks. May have a look into Port Ellen if weather ok. Reading up on it Ballycastle definately seems a good bet.
