Can anyone confirm if the two senders in the picture are the same from a guage point of view, I have two tanks and two new Faria 10-180 ohms guages. My old senders have seen better days and are also un-matched. The read switch type are cheaper and much easier to obtain but I don't want to get them if they won't work.

Just had my lever-arm type out and contemplated switching to a reed switch type. In my case did not as the tank was wedge-shaped and a reed switch could not have reached the bottom from the top hole position. ( The float arm did go near the bottom ). Reed switches OUGHT to be more reliable, but they have to be positioned correctly. Also they only read in "steps", rather than a continuously variable resistance. Different makes have different numbers of "steps".

Hi Wilson, I also have a wedged shape tank but the sender aperture hole is at the deepest point so if I purchase one of the correct depth / length I should get a good max / min ok, my only worry was Reed wouldn't work on my new Faria gauges. The step effect wouldn't be a problem for me.

Thanks
