Fuel pump

Could someone give me advice on how to get the fuel pump out of a Saab 10hp engine? I can get it half way out but the protrusions on back of pump stop it coming out all the way.Any help would be appreciated

The OP says that his engine is a Saab. It is not therefore not obvious to me that it is not a Saab. It is always my approach to seek clarification rather than summarily dismiss the facts provided by the OP.

I don't think Saab made any 10hp engines.

The Sabb main engineer was in Teignmouth when I used him, very helpful, can't remember his name off hand but could possibly find it.

Stab in the dark - could it just need the engine rotating to allow the fuel pumps arm that sits on the cam to be in a position to just slide out?
That's if it works like that?

having said that i failed to mange to get the fuel pump of my Dad's Sabb a couple of years ago. i never did find out how the yard did it. i did try turning crank over etc

Exactly so. "Don't think" does not equate to "obvious", and never will.

As to whether Saab made any 10HP engines, I don't know, so it's clearly not obvious to either of us.
