Fuel priming bulbs

Yes.

In general, petrol is more problematic than diesel. If it will handle the former, it will handle the latter.

In any case, mine said on the packet that diesel was ok.

If correct spec is not used we have noticed that they can harden, not sure what happens inside. Best to get one clearly marked for diesel, from the autoparts place.

In my experience yes. It makes syphoning fuel from a jerry can into the tank mess and stress free (unless I overfill it :( )
With an ordinary hose to start a syphon from a container, seal the top with a rag and blow (if it's fuel a small second hose is better)
The can becomes pressurised and the liquid is forced out of the longer hose, once the syphon started it will continue of its own accord.

I am sure many boaters know this trick, but I see a lot of people transferring liquids the hard way

Will the priming bulbs fitted to remote O/B tanks, handle diesel OK?

FWIW my diesel Peugeot car has such a bulb in the fuel line to facilitate bleeding the fuel filter after changing it.

Whether or not its anything special for diesel I known not but it would make sense to buy one labelled as suitable for diesel.
