Fuel Prices

A while back when fuel prices were rising lots of people were saying it could spell the end of the mobo as we know it, & prices were only going one way which is up. Now with prices falling, will we see a revival in fortune for the mobo. Is this just a glitch, or were the high prices the glitch bought on by China etc. which now look decidedly different.

Oil prices low at the moment as China and India are not demanding as much as last year, and the Septics are producing shale oil and gas, so output more than demand currently. Enjoy, as it will not last forever!

Have they fallen much? 95ppl 60/40 east Cowes and 92ppl for non berth holder at Gosport last week. This time last year it was 1.06 at Gosport. I'd sooner have the cash in my wallet but the savings are quite small in the scheme of things.

I was discussing the barrel price, down to $50 from $120 ish. We aren't really seeing much of this change atm.

The bigger question in the immediate future is what will happen when the EU finally enforces the no-red rule? Arguably, diesel in marinas is no cheaper with the 60/40 discount than it is undiscounted at petrol stations, but do we really believe that marinas will supply full tax road diesel at the current 60/40 red price?

I paid £0.76 at hamble with MDL discount. I believe it's slowly falling which is a good thing.

Just back from Spain and saw road diesel at €1.03. At a conservative exchange rate = £0.76. I feel we're still being ripped off by someone.

Just mentioned on lunchtime tv, heating oil is £0.29 a lts.
So how come red is so so expensive today

0.60p this morning in Jersey for 1000 litres or more. 0.63p for - up to 1000 litres.

0.66p in Guernsey for any amount at Boatworks (St Peter Port) - cheaper by bowser in St Sampsons if you can be bothered with the hassle of sorting it out ( I couldn't!)

Last October I filled up 60/40 on Windermere and it was £1.18

New supplier this year and its £1.26 - raw costs significantly less price a lot more

Got to be about the most expensive tax subsidised diesel in the country - consequently I will be making my own provisions to fill the tanks for the winter this year!!
