Fuel Prices in the Med

38+knots 950 ltrs per hour range 300

[/ QUOTE ]Actually 340, to be consistent with your other figures.
Though looking at P92 specs, it seems that you calculated the range with no reserve at all vs. the 8.5 tons fuel capacity... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

GSkip. the family will love southern Corsica and the islands between Corsica and Sardinia. And you're doing it the right way becuase prevailing is westerley. It can be windy even in summer. Bonifacio is one of the most stunning entrances ever (as will be Valetta, later in your trip) and the islands (Lavezzi etc) are beautiful day anchorages. Anyway this thread is short of pictures so here are a few :-)

Approaching Bonifacio

Berth in Boni on quai d'honneur. Ok for a night or two, if you like being close to restaurants. I mean, very close. This is the 3rd from last berth, ie the 3rd most easterly, of the quai d'honner berths, in the thick of it!

Leaving bonifacio. Stunning scenery.

Lavezzi again, looking north, s.corsica in far distance

Pressing on, heading East/S East, btween Corsica and Sard. Madlelina (sp) island

A few miles further on, Spargi Island, E side of island in lee of prevailing W wind. Not busy - this shot is late May

CNMarinas is nice
here is a list of Malta top Marinas
1) Porto Maso 25 - 80 ft
2) Msida Marina protected in all winds 20 - 60 ft ok once I berth Fer 72 footer for a day
3) Grand Harbour Marina hopeless with stong NE but nice being a newly refurbish area
4) Manoel Island Marina this will improve a lot
5) Ta Xbiex opposite Manoel Island stern to key berths from 30 to all the way you want 300 ft
6) Mgarr Gozo nice but also gets it with some winds East and worst of all SW but rare to be strong over here

Hurricane upon arriving here I can give you a temporary berth in Msida or TaXbiex and then we can go have a look by car and tell me what you prefare
hard place to berth will definitly be Msida due to the size of the boat, but for the rest in May should all be ok...

Ah but you're going by the rock formations. Check out the sky! This shot was June 2007 btw /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

jfm

Thanks - sounds good.

I dont know if this helps but our 20m Flybridge burns about 165/170 litres per hour at 24ish knots - per engine of course.
That seems to confirm the figure from SS IMO

Hi Guys

Just arrived back from my visit to the factory to see the progress of the boat. It's looking amazing, although a bit bare inside at the moment. Also saw the engines all wrapped up in plastic on pallets ready for the lift in.

I would just like to make clear to anybody reading this post that I'm not the owner, I'm far from that league. I'm just fortunate that over the years I have skippered some great boats for some great people. And I enjoy a day teaching a family on their thirty two footer, or the Training Centre Boat just as much. It’s about being on the water. I still get a thrill from the bigger boats though and love the challenge. Fair to say most of the big boats I have skippered or moved around are ex students of mine. So as they have moved up and up they have taken me with them, either as their skipper or to collect the boat and bring it home for them after their holls.

It has always amazed me how boating people share knowledge and help each other. This site proves just that. So after my 10 hour drive “round trip to the factory and back” I'm Knackered and need to get to bed. However before I turn in for the night I read your posts and just had to say a big thanks to you all for the very valued advice the great pics.
It’s great how knowledge always seems to be freely shared between boating people, whether on a site like this or just passing the time of day chatting on the back of boats. You just can’t beat local knowledge. It’s the stuff that’s not in the almanac.
Please keep it coming as I’m sure Hurricane is enjoying this as well, regarding his similar trip.

I look forward to the opportunity of offering similar to any of you visiting Menorca or the Balearic Islands.

For those going to LIBS have a great show. Remember it's not how rich you are it's how rich your life is.

Thanks again and Cheers Gskip

[/ QUOTE ]All well and good Gskip, but where are the pics....!?! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Never done pics before. So maybe need a bit of help also need to confirm that posting pics will not offend either the owner or the factory. As it's all positive stuff I dont see a problem, I am creating a pictorial of the build which I would love to share and get your comments. So please be patient and I will hopefully post after the show. Not really right to post pics on the net until the owner has seen them. sure you will understand.

I think you're wise to check with the owner before proceeding. He may or may not want pictures of his new toy spread across this rather dodgy forum /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Forumite "Magnum" has previously posted pix of his Predator in build, so I don't think Sunseeker will have a problem.

Its dead easy.
Create a free account at www.photobucket.com.
Copy your pics up - best if they are scaled first but I believe that photobucket will scale them for you.
Then click on the IMG Code link against the picture you want to post.
This creates a link on your clipboard so simply paste (Cntrl V) into your YBW post.

The hardest bit is uploading the pics.

And remember once you've uploaded into photobucket, the pics are available wherever you go - maybe even share them with the new owners.
