Is the price of fuel gone crazy or are we just being rip off .
We topped up in March in Lefkas at 1.09 lts at Pilos two weeks later we notice diesel was 1.23 lts in Ghalatas 1.35 in one garage 1 .28 in another , on Kea its 1.29 lts what's going on .is fuel just shooting up , or are there just charging what they like ? By the way these are garage forecourt prices .

Petrol is €1.59 here, not sure about diesel because I haven't filled the boat up lately. I think a lot has to do with distribution costs and what the market will stand. Some petrol stations on the main roads here, but in relatively isolated places, are still charging €1.65 for petrol......

Shoreside will obviously be dearer, and in the Islands probably more variable, but the various web sites showing current (roadside) fuel prices for European countries range between €1.21 to 1.26 for Greek diesel and €1.51 to 1.56 for petrol. Typical prices have evidently risen by a cent or two in the last month.
I'll know more in a month or so, but I imagine Vic will, too.

Talking to another British boat last night and they filled up near porto Cheli two weeks ago @ 1.08 , so puzzle what's going on , can't see fuel gone up 14 cent and more in other places in two weeks .,lucky we had wind to sail laterly

Probably depends if the fuel is legal or black market :) and also whether you can pay by card or only in cash. The new government is trying to tighten up a lot on black market fuel to be sure of getting the tax revenue.

I only fill up 3 times a year Vic. Have you traded in for a motorboat? Try sailing more
