Fuel prices 60/40 split

A marina near us does the same .as do a couple of other coastal fuel sources I know of .
Any retailer may decide this and is not breaking any law.
What's to stop an unscrupulous marina charging 60/40 but on their books state 40/60? Is it on the receipt?

My boat is currently sitting in N.I and the marina isn't doing any kind of rebated fuel now. Only pump diesel.

My understanding is that whilst red can’t be used in NI there will be a scheme that enables a tax regime for white that is similar to the rest of the U.K.

Thanks Greg. The harbour master did send out an email saying they weren't going to get involved in the rebated duty scenario as it wasn't worth their while but it's early days so I'm not too sure what it all means to be honest..

The marina in Bangor is a fair size so surprised that they won’t do rebated fuel (assuming that is where you are moored). If they won’t then might be worth looking elsewhere - maybe pop across the lough to Carrickfergus assuming they have a fuel pontoon?

We are fortunate in Ramsgate, we can state any split. we bought the boat with full tanks, 1500l, and burnt a fair bit motoring around locally and added 8 gallons late Autumn at zero rated for heating only. That will be the only time we can responsibly do that as any fuel we do buy will be at the generally accepted rate of 60/40 which, personally, I think is quite fair.

Yeah that's the place. I don't think Carrick has a fuel pontoon. The closest (I think) may be Glenarm. Just before the October changeover from Red, because the marina was running down its tanks, I actually managed to get filled up on the pier directly from an oil supplier. They were golden with no issues whatsoever. I'm not sure with the new 'non-red' situ whether they'll be able to repeat it but I'll certainly ask. It's a strange situ with NI now having a different colour fuel and regs to the rest of the UK.

Small tankers from fuel depots where regularly seen at marinas in Fermanagh before the no red rule, not sure what the situation with them is now.
Most marinas that had red tanks have removed them.

They're still visiting here but that's only for the visiting fishing fleet..
