\'Fuel King\' - fact or fiction?

During a sort out the other day, I came across a leaflet for the 'Fuel King' ( fuel conditioning device), I got at last year's SBS.
Now I understand the principal, and do realise that magnetic hard water de-scaling devices seem to work, but these seem too good to be true. They also seem to have good endorsements.

Not wishing to open up the old debate about things like S*****n, I was wondering if anybody out there has fitted one or more of these, and do they really improve fuel consumption and cut down smoke.

we had 4 magnet things fitted to Triple Ace.( 3 engines and on gen)

1. They did reduce exhaust smoke

2. fuel consumption did appear better, but to stats to prove either way.

Think you'll find it is for diesel not petrol, so it will save you the trouble.

Like Tripleace, I had them fitted to my 2 x Mercruiser 180hp.
Certainly not much smoke, but not a lot before either.
As for consumption, never checked it. Much too frightening!!

Sounds similar to Fuel Cat - fitted to a lot of old engines when 4* was withdrawn, found a link on a land rover web site a while back. Can get either one for the tank or an inline device, seems to make similar claims and they do work on petrol.
