I am changing from a petrol to a diesel engine, and wish to use the same tank and fuel hose, Its one of those large plastric tanks for outboard use, but I like it as I can get it out to clean, and the hose is flexible enough to suit the small space, and its less than a year old.

I cant find any hoses or tanks that say petrol only or diesel only, just 'fuel', so can I use it? I have cleaned it well, /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I reckon you should have no problems with using diesel in a tank and hose made for petrol. I would have thought petrol was more inclined to disolvee things than diesel. I reckon using an O/B tank for a small diesel engine would be an excellent way to manage and clean out water and bacteria. YOu just need to ensure you don't run the tank dry. You will have to bleed the diesel if you do. good luck olewill
