Some time ago a poster suggested leaving start-of-season fuel filter changes until the engine has had a few hours running. This is to ensure that any residual muck in the system doesn't contaminate the new filters. I must say I have always found it much more convenient to change filters before launch. What do members think?

I am a bit worried about doing that in case I don't bleed the system properly or there is an air leak - it would be an embarrassing time for the engine to splutter to a halt. I would rather do it afloat so that I can satisfy myself that the engine is running properly afterwards.

I can see a certain logic in this suggestion if you feel that during launching the fuel in the tank would slosh around and stir up sediment. But if it's that bad...

The sun always shines in Bonaire. It does rain too, but the rainy season has passed. Great island - you'll love it.

It is always better to change filters with a warm engine in case of air bubbles for the fuel and warm oil for less viscosity , so do it afloat . No matter before or after the winter .
