I'm about to change the pre-filter on my Panda 4.5 genny. As there seems to be no way of priming / bleeding filter after fitting, can I expect problems on starting up? I guess the genny will start at first, but stop when the air reaches it. Does it self bleed or is there another way to bleed the system?

Depend if it early engine with manual prime pump or electric, if electric it will hopefully splutter but keep going , you can trick the pump by pressing the start button with the exciter wire off the starter solenoid.

It is the basic Farymann 15 or 18W engine but with a remote 12v fuel pump, so as mentioned get that to power whilst bleeding at the inlet to the fuel solenoid valve, or at the spill connection banjo on top of the injector.

On my Mastervolt it claims to be self bleeding, but that has the older mechanical pump.

Interesting to see the mods made to make it freshwater cooled.

I have wired a local start button so I can start the engine whilst by it rather than having to start it remotely, which makes bleeding the fuel system properly nigh impossible.

If you want the overhaul manual for the seatwer cooled Farymann 15/18W engine PM me.
