Fuel fill through tank wall

I’m putting in a new plastic fuel tank, and the most direct and downhill route for the deck fill inlet would be through the rearmost wall of the tank, rather than from above (limited on vertical clearance). Does anybody know of a product for adding a flangey attachment to a hole that’ll couple with a pipe? My inlet hose is 50mm but I can easily adapt down.

Partial brainwave: a deck filler inlet, mounted from the inside of the tank, with a good gasket and securely bolted in with some big washers on the outside. Still, there’s got to be a less bodged solution.

You can get a right angle deck drain that perhaps would work in your limited vertical clearance, otherwise a bronze through hull. (As suggested already)

Nice nice, great ideas, thank you both. Any suggestions on making a gasket or otherwise sealing it? I know nothing about what kinds of materials interact happily with diesel and what breaks down and jams fuel filters off a lee shore.

I would avoid sealants but diesel resistant sealants are available in motor factor shops. You need a Nitrile rubber gasket you can almost certainly find a source for a sheet of it on the internet or e bay and make your own gasket. something about 2 to 3mm thick should be OK.
