Fuel d6 x 370 hp

650 Litres. Those MBY reports are a bit optimistic, and you won't need an out-drive service anytime soon :-)
but did you all have a good time- that's what matters really?

well it was 754 L but irish sea against tide at times we are still om holiday for ten more days so a lot more fuel to burn

Ouch, thought the Rodders could lunch the dino-juice. Forget it, sod the diesel - just enjoy the weather and the boat. What ever happens, it was going to be a big bill.
Top tip! don't mention this to Mrs Seastoke. I got found out recently, and now "we" have to go to the shoe shop that sells shoes with red soles -big weddings next year WTF!
You have all winter to reminisce the great days out, look at the pics and remember the experiences and the happy faces, and plan some exciting days out next year. As Rolls Royce used to say, the experience is remembered long after the price is forgotten.
I divide the fuel bill by the number of people on board and number of days - suddenly it looks like a bargain!
There's no refunds at the end, as I was reminded again today. Hope the rest of the trip goes well.

754 Liter for 113 Nm..... Is it true ?
Not sure your boat .. guess 21 knots is not on plane then…. You must have pushed a big wave in front of you from start to end.
If the boat is a cruiser size 37-40' … with one engine installation (you do not mention) …. your trip should be done on less than 400 liter I would think.
I just did 472 Nm on 920 liter …. 2 x KAD300 with DPG (not on shaft) …. 3 weeks holiday involving fjords and ocean cruising. Speed between 8 and 30 knots. Avg. for the 3 weeks I guess 10-12 knots.

Boat Windy 37HT

ye sorry sealine f42/5 twin d6 on shafts full tanks and craap

In fairness Forest here was out this last weekend navigating in gale force winds and big seas. Fuel economy was never going to be a priority. Full marks for pluck though :encouragement:

Just a little comparison.....

Last Irish Sea trip we did 105 NM from Kilmore Key to Caernarfon with 10 HP at WOT all the way.

Used a massive 35 litres of green stuff. This was way more than I expected. I thought I would only use 20:o .I think the Irish sea must be getting more viscous with all the jelly fish!

Yeah it took 20 Hours and most of that was in zero visibility. No rag assistance as it was flat calm all the way....

20 hours Steve? Now you see that's where it all went horribly wrong. I'm sure if I bobbed along with the tide and threw the hook out when it was against me, I could do much the same and never even start the engines!

Funny you say that....I considered throwing the hook out when it turned against me but I don't think that even if I had joined every piece of string on board I could have found 270M of scope required at the time. Knowing my luck I would have foul hooked anyhow..

I could have stopped and had a :sleeping:for 3 hours and saved myself all of gallon of fuel..... but I would have missed last orders at the Ty Coch.

All the same. I was out with Roy at that time in that fog VD to Cemaes. Kudos for crossing St George in it. We were also down to drift speeds and when we got to Cemaes we couldn't see the rock bluffs 20 yards off. Not the nicest of situations when trying to throw the hook out.

I did a similar distance down to Dartmouth from the Solent last month. I have D6 370's (IPS). My fuel burn was around 430-450lts. I was doing 25knots but the conditions were perfect (flat sea).

I am doing Poole to Plymouth (102.2nm per navionics) on Friday / Saturday (well, we were planning to but now the return trip on Monday doesn't look so great with easterlies). We have 2 x KAD300's with 572 litre tank and the OP's fuel consumption figures are eye opening......I had planned on average of 75 litres per hour at 25 knots, navionics makes it 337.7 litres of fuel so a refuel at Plymouth would have been made in any case but it will be interesting to see if the 'actual' figures are close.........
