Fuel consumption

I cannot find out the range and consumption of my boat. It is a Skilso 975 Artic, semi, about 5 tons, with 2x 130 Volvo diesels. Top speed of 22kn cruising 18kn. I have not tried these speeds yet, so used to going 12kn that it is a real culture change ! The tanks hold 260 litres each, 90 gallons. I know there will be a mathematician out there that can help!

They all do !!!.

Id say twin 130s presume on shafts?...... will do 1.8 mpg at cruise 18knots so you have a good range with full tanks.

For a diesel, very rough ballpark rule of thumb approximate figures are:-
every gallon gives roughly 20hp for an hour.
So if you are running flat out, using all 260hp, roughly 13 gallons per hour.
but at 90% of max revs, you'll use about 75% of max fuel
and at 75% of max revs you'll use about 50% of max fuel
