Sellotaped the bird feeding hole - you are horrible those poor birds - hope your local barmaid doesn't have the same idea next time you go????

What an eloquent thread thank you chaps finshed friday off nicely

from my window I can see 5 rose buds just about to burst open (hopefully before the frosts come) and my cat stalking a pidgeon which is twice the size of her

I can see me.

I was hoping to paint some beautiful picture of the leaves gently fluttering from the willow tree and the birds foraging for food on the lawn but, unfortunately, it's dark and all I can see is my reflection.

You jammy lot. From my window I see and hear the delights of downtown Beirut. Worse still was missing an evening at the PoW.
Still back home on Sunday but no work on boat.
Have a good weekend

From my site office window this afternoon I could see an inactive concrete pump waiting for it’s 1st load of concrete.
The pump has been there since 9 o’clock.
The concrete supplier forgot to order the waterproof admix when I booked the loads on Monday.
There supplier sent it by overnight carrier to the wrong batching plant 40 miles away.
We only managed 1 load before it was to dark to see what we were doing so now I have got to go in tomorrow to get the rest placed!
An additional days hire on the pump, 4 men on time and a half and me not being able to go for a Saturday sail

Some one is going to PAY!

I feel a lot better for unloading that.

Right........................
From my window (I'm retired, so it is home) I can see the warm life giving sun trying its level best to penetrate the grey clouds to reach the trees and fields
of the old Croydon Airport where thoughtful dog walkers pretend to ignore
the presents their little pox.....bundles of fun, deposit on the paths to catch out the unwary.
The little fairy ring like areas where the little bast.......educational deprived young
people, have set fire to some poor persons pride and joy.
In the distance the crane demolishing Nelson Mandela Tower block, erected just a few years ago at great public expense but now in more enlightened times being replaced by proper houses that should have been built in the first place.
Still, nothing can erase the joy of knowing that SHE is waiting, patiently, biding her time, knowing that I visit once a week to pat her bottom and attend to her needs.

That reminds me I must get a few jobs done on the boat!!!!!

Regards Briani
PS Nice one Davy L O L

It gets worse.

I will agree with that.

When we got to site on Saturday morning we found that the concrete we had placed had not set.

I had heard rumours that the waterproofing agent has a retarding effect on the concrete. So we pressed on and placed the remaining concrete.

In the afternoon I had a call from the supplier of the insulated shuttering system we are using to say that he had spoken to the supplier of the waterproofer and they had had this problem with this concrete supplier before and had found that is a reaction with the plastisier used in their standard mixes.

With that I revisited the site to check the now 24hr old concrete. It was still soft!

I will be going back again this morning with fingers crossed,

OK you lot thats quite enough of that....

from my window, dismal grey rain drips from dismal grey trees, onto a dismal grey street from a uniformally dismal grey sky. Even the grass has a dismal grey hue to it. Down the road sits the pride and joy now bedded down for the winter under her covers, and the (few) hours of sunshine enjoyed last summer are now nothing more than Jpeg code imprinted on my hard drive.

Its November, and 4 months before I can go sailing again....
