From lying ahull, how do u raise the mains'l w/out starting the engine

Not a very nice responce to Forum memebers

Guinevere, just how rude can you get, 1st you insult two well meaning forum members and then you do not even have the courtesy to thank the other member of this learned society of Practical Boat Owners for their contributions. Think you should change your screen name from Guinevere (who was a very nice if somewhat flirtatious lady) to a**hol*

Hope your day improves! mine has.

Get a junk rig - let sheetlets right out til boom is weather cocking. Hoist sail. Easy peasy.

I'm missing something in this discussion, probably from unfamiliarity with modern bermudan rig. On a gaff rig you just lift the topping lift a bit, let the boom swing, and hoist the sail. Traditional lazyjacks take care of themselves.
