It's cold.

Maybe this was the cost of several fine days early this week allowing us to cross from Lowestoft to Ijmuiden and enjoy three cloudless days. Alshira was at Ijmuiden, but their cruise is unfortunately limited this year and we only had time for a coffee together before parting.

We've taken a couple in company who are Baltic virgins and look to be progressing slowly for the time being, but not as slowly as another Solent boat which has got waylaid at the fleshpots of Middleberg.

It's cold in Makkum, today too.
We have had some lovely sailing zigzagging up the IJsselmeer, and are poised to head for the dutch and german Frisian islands as soon as the promised warm calm weather arrives - it is forecast for tomorrow. Ok for us, since we don't really mind how far we get, but the Baltic-bound boats look as if they will have some NE winds on their noses for some of the trip - hope it is not too uncomfortable!

I hope you locked into Makkum and that you can afford the ceramics. We have a few of their tiles as souvenirs but I would love to have some of their plates, only about e150 each.

It's been cold since we left BRadwell on Wednesday and we had a wet crossing. The sun showed up at Veere and the warmth at Zieriksee. Willemstad tomorrow but the wind is stick in the north damn it.

We have just been rafter by a boat from Benfleet who has given up the outside passage to Den Helder.

Still sunny for a few more days.

C U soon when we arrive it will be hot so biers to slake one`s thirst

now in the Frisians - Terschelling, aiming for Ameland later today. The sun is out, the wind is F3 and from a reasonably good direction - but it is still pretty chilly until you get out of the wind. The sailing has been super, but still in fleeces and oilies.

Hope the other netherland/german- bound travellers are doing well.
