Hi.
I have two light switches for my saloon... just as I go down the companion way. They are 24v frilight rocker switches. I know they used to be available via ec smith (sadly no.lpnger in business. Does anyone know of a similar predict. I am really struggling online. I have phoned the UK frilight distributor who gave me the names of 6 companies. All these deny selling Frilight products.
The secondary question is... can I use 240v domestic switches in my 24v circuit or will this just burn them out. The rampage is low as they are just running 5 LEDs each
Obviously I am trying to avoid unnecessary carpentry... plus the frilight switches have lasted a good 15 years if not longer.
Thanks

How about theses? Failing that do a search for "white 12 volt DC rocker switch"
ON/OFF Round Mini Rocker Switch With White Body - 12V

Sadly they are a lot too small. The overall switch dimension including the frame bit is 60mm ... those are less than half that. I have already had a google as you suggest and found nothing that seems quite the same

Forgive silly question, but does that switch not fit existing frame?

Almost any switch will do. It's the current rating, not the voltage in your case. No harm done using a 240v rated switch, as long as it can handle a couple of amps, you'll be fine. Does it need to be splash/waterproof in it's location?

Will a standard domestic plate switch fit in that location over existing hole?

Not always the case. You have to make sure it can handle DC current. I think that you will find switches rated @XX amps ac have a much lower rating for DC. You just have to check. ;)

There is a small difference between switches for AC mains and DC supplies. The arc on switching off is more severe with DC and can burn or weld contacts in AC switches.
In practice domestic AC switches are widely used on boats and vans using batteries so I would have no concern in using them to switch a few LEDs
