Last year I had a Glomex mast top TV areal fitted, it worked well so I did not get round until this year to fit the Glomex amplifier unit that came with it. The amplifier has made a slight improvement in reception. But now when the fridge motor is running it interferes with the TV sound, as it is being picked up by the (new last year) Sonichi (Halfords) Radio. (I run the TV sound through the radio via the TV ear phone socket, which sounds great). The sound from our little TV is awful)

When just the radio is on FM or DAB, the Fridge motor does not interfere with it. When the radio is turned off because the motor interference is heard, the sound from the TV has no interference.

The Glomex amplifier unit is sited 1.5m from the Waeco Coolmatic fridge, they share the same 12v feed. Clearly I need to fit something to prevent this interference but I don't what and to where.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Hi Nigel from one Bavaria owner to another thanks for the unexplained and unhelpful post.

Because The fridge and gormex share the same switch feed, it is not a given it will generate a signal that will be picked up by the shielded amplifier. It is interfering, but the radio to TV wire could be the cause also the fridge motor could require an electrical damper. I don't know that is the reason I posted the question as I was hoping for expert help

Waeco compressors (danfoss) interfere with radios. It's a known fact, you should hear it on the 20metre band. The manufacturer acknowledged the problem and people tried making shields for the compressor controller card, but I don't think any progress has been made.
Separation distance and powersupply-wise didn't help me with the ham radio - I just switched the fridge off when the net was on. Sorry!
