If you have a water heater in the circuit, it is well worth blowing the water out of it for the winter with compressed air. (the LVM dinghy inflator is a good tool for this task!)

"then overdose with Milton"

Milton will need to be thoroughly washed thro the system, it tends to taste pretty bad in tea/ whisky etc. or perhaps keep a small 1 gall container for drinking only.

Is it flexible or fixed?

Find flexible not good with any water left in. Best to take home and air.

Fixed I have no experience, but imagine if you can completely empty and dry then this is your best bet.
