Fresh Water Tank Full Alarm

My tank vents are over the galley sink and if the sink plug is left in the sink overflow will take care of the excessive in the tank fill

I also have a simple float switch in the top of all my tanks, 2 water, 3 diesel and waste with indicator light and buzzer.

My tanks are vented above the heads sink. If the tanks get too full most of the water overflows from the filler and runs along the side deck. If it's a really powerful tap a little water sometimes comes out of the vent. As they get almost full my tanks make a couple of banging noises, which act as a good alarm.

Our vent exits to the exterior, but I don’t like filling it with water (which I think encourages bacterial growth) so I find the gauge at #3 very useful, and it gives an adequate indication of remaining tank capacity as well – with no moving parts and all for about £30 and a little effort.
