Our fresh water pump does not hold pressure when turned on, therefore continuously on. We cannot locate any leaks, and the accumulator looks ok. Any ideas?
Our accumulators have replaceable diaphragms so it would be worth a checkWe have used a tyre pump to increase pressure but it didn’t hold pressure. Would we need to purchase a new accumulator?
If the valve(s) in the pump are faulty, or possibly not sealing properly, due to particles of dirt for instance, the pressure will not be maintained, so the pump will run continuously.
Accumulator will have no effect ruptured or not. Problem is non return valves not sealing.
+1 for valves in the pump
but if the pump never cuts out, just runs continuously, a defective pressure switch is another possibility but you might then notice that the pressure in the taps is unusually high
