Fresh Water Filters

We are moving on to Tunisia / Greece this summer and When we fill up and looking to have a set of filters between out tanks and the shore tap.
Are there any off the shelf solutions are do I need to go to a Plumbers and bolt them to an old piece of Ply.
The filter will be in line between the tap and the hose end which we put into the 2 tanks.
Will save our Pumps and also our onboard Water purification filter a bit

a primary filter of wound polypropylene to remove the grit and fine debris, and then if you want the purification, go for a General Ecology one.

sarabande is right. I also have a spun poly pre filter in-line in the hose (and polyphosphate crystals to remove corrosive hardness) both in 9" housings. You could mount the 9" housings on ply - old or new - or on a bulkhead. I just leave mine propped up on deck so they can be drained and dropped into a locker when we want to cast off. I wouldn't be without it now, as a liveaboard. We also have a General Ecology for all drinking and cooking water.

Sorry, I meant to reply earlier. I bought mine from http://www.derwentwatersystems.co.uk and in June 2006 I had 48 delivered.
