A report in the Mail on Sunday states,that last week alone, 35 dolphin carcasses were washed up on the Devon and Cornwall coastlines.
The problem is pair trawling in the channel which is netting huge profits from Sea Bass.
Under the EU’s 1993 Habitats Directive the French government should monitor them to check what they are catching. But they won’t put observers on board because they refuse to acknowledge there’s a problem.
Brixham fisherman’s wife Lindy Hingley – awarded an MBE for marine conservation work said ‘ This is mass rape of the sea, Bass stocks and dolphins are being decimated while the EU looks the other way’.
