Hi,

Anyone familier with the label plates on French trailers (where else am I going to go to ask that /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ).

In particular I am interested in know what the PTC and PV values are; my best guess is that PV is the weight of the trailer itself, and PTC is either the max Gross weight, i.e. weight of trailer and load, or the max load excl the weight of the trailer.

I googled it but couldnt find a French to english trailer abbreviation translation page.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Many thanks!

Your best guess is right. PV (Poids à Vide) is the unladen weight; PTAC (Poids Total Autorisé en Charge) is the max permitted weight.

Hi, sorry just to clarify PTC, is that max permitted weight including the weight of the trailer, so if the PV is 500kg, and the PTC is 2500kg, then the max weight of boat that could go on it is 2000kg (+500kg PV = 2500kg PTC)?

Many thanks

Anthony
