French Polisher - Chichester

Happy new year all,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a french polisher in the Chichester / south coast area?

It is for a general tidy up on a 36' boat.

Are you sure you mean French Polish? True French Polish isn't very water resistant. I can't remember too many boats with very much French Polish on them.

If it is varnished inside with the usual factory applied varnish, you do not need a french polish, but initially a clean to assess any damage then make good with a compatible varnish.

You could well be right, I mean wood that was shiny and varnished needs returning to the same state, I have always called that "French Polish" but i might ned a boat varnisher

I hope you've got deep pockets. Refinishing varnish to a high standard is very labour intensive! Specialist varnish work isn't cheap when you pay someone else to do it.

Try Haines boat yard, Itchenor. The shipwrights there look to have that kind of experience.

If no joy at Haines then You might ask around at Birdham marina - they seem to be the type of place that might know or at Emsworth marina maybe ?

Try Deacons at Bursledon, they did some good work for me last year refinishing the galley area to get rid of scratches and watermarks
