French Fuel problems?

I have a friend who tried to fill up his Fairline 40 at Le Havre last Thursday. He went into Le Havre and was told ' No Fuel monseur'. Having just cast his lines off, a french fishing boat tied up and proceeded to fill up. Friend duly went back and enquired as to whats going on and was told ' No fuel for English'.

Anybody else had this or know of a reason why?

Luckily he had enough to go to St Vaast where they were only to happy to refuel him...

Me too - had vertigo halfway up the ladder!
Now have a collapsible trolley on board.

As a matter of interest whats the position in Cherbourg. Is it french credit card only.?
