French Canals

Can someone tell me which pbo or ym had info on travelling the French canals including how to obtain competence ticket etc, I want to enter the canals at either Calais or Le Havre and exit same way during next summer.
Any help is much appreciated.

Going UP the Seine requires a decent engine. I'd go in via Calais and out via Le Havre. That's what we did and we had a great trip.
Plan your trip well and make sure to get the correct paperwork. French Customs will fine you if you don't have the correct documents etc. Don't let anyone pursuade you otherwise.
The RYA is helpful about qualifications.
