How much of a close call is attempting to pass through the canals (LeHarve to Med) with a draught of 5'9'' (1.75m). All literature says 1.8m but i guess its down to particular waterlevels at the time, i was planning to go in April.

Also does anybody have experience of getting a 'Keel Stepped' mast unstepped/stepped. I assume it has to be done very carefully to avoid damage to cabin roof etc.

Thanks

If you do a search (next to "main index") on all forums for "french canals", over an "all posts" timescale, you will get a lot of information. This question has been asked before. I would guess you would be OK in April as there should be plenty of rainfall about. However you will draw slightly more in fresh water than you do in sea water. Have you taken that into consideration?
